Can Someone Collect A Debt After I Am Bankrupt?

I have recently been contacted by letter from a company called 1st Credit Ltd chasing a dept that was cleared in my bankruptcy. As yet I have not acknowledged them and have no intention to do so at present. The debt was a firm called Open & Direct- they chased this debt shortly after my bankruptcy and now they have sold the debt to a collection company. Is there anything I should do?
